Para celebrar o fim do ano e da década, a Metacritic revelou os 50 melhores jogos da década. Duas empresas dominaram o top 5: Nintendo e Rockstar. A Nintendo ganhou três com Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Odyssey e The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A Rockstar levou os dois restantes com Grand Theft Auto 5 e Red Dead Redemption 2.
